Jamie Hazlett, Authorization Specialist at Phelps Memorial Health Center, has been selected by Governor Pete Ricketts to represent our region on the Early Childhood Integration Coordination Council. This council advises and assists collaborating agencies in carrying out the provisions of the Early Intervention Act, the Quality Child Care Act, and other early childhood care and education initiatives under state supervision.

MEDITECH 6.1 Project Collaboration
Local medical groups, including Phelps Memorial Health Center (Holdrege), Tri Valley Health System (Cambridge, Arapahoe, Indianola), Harlan County Health System (Alma), Phelps Medical Group (Holdrege) and Family Medical Specialties (Holdrege), have been in collaboration to enhance the delivery of care in their south central Nebraska communities.
Together, they are streamlining processes and sharing best practices in an effort to create a sustainable future for rural healthcare through the implementation of an electronic medical record (EMR) system (MEDITECH 6.1) with the help of Navin Haffty & Associates, a consulting firm based out of Massachusetts.

Why I had my first mammogram at age 36.
At the age of 36, I had my first mammogram. Not for me, but for two very sassy kids and a husband (yes, he’s sassy as well). As it turns out, there are more risk factors on the list that I had never before considered (or even knew about). No matter how busy life gets, the most important thing we can do for our family is to take care of ourselves.
