PMHC holds celebration to honor Dr. Robert Anderson.

As Phelps Memorial Health Center celebrates its 40th anniversary in
2008, one celebration will center on one of the first physicians at the
hospital.
On Monday, February 18, PMHC will host an open house celebration in
honor of Dr. Robert Anderson. The party will be held in the Phelps
Memorial West Lobby and Cafeteria, from 2 to 4 pm, with a program at 3.
Please use the West entrance between 12th & 14th Avenues on Miller
Street.
Dr. Anderson was born and raised in Holdrege, and after earning his
medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, he
practiced medicine in Ainsworth for about ten years. He then returned to
Holdrege and opened a family practice clinic in November, 1967, just
south of Phelps Memorial Health Center.
The hospital opened six months later on April 28, 1968, and Dr. Anderson
became one of the early admitters to the hospital. He welcomed Dr.
Stuart Embury into his practice two years later.
Dr. Anderson retired from active medical practice on April 26, 1990. He
and his wife, Mary Anna, live in Holdrege.
