Press Release: April 2008

Fund raiser for Team Mates program held featuring Husker Hoops.

HUSKER HOOPS: Kellen Dick of the Holdrege team chases a loose ball as Sean Hill, Brandon Johnson and Matt Senske try to look innocent and head toward the basket for some defense. The fun-filled afternoon of basketball was also a time for the Team Mates mentors and mentees to be together as Phelps Memorial Health Center worked to raise money for their program.

Husker Hoops nearly filled the Holdrege High School gymnasium on Sunday afternoon. A nice crowd came to watch the University of Nebraska senior football players play basketball against local talent.

The game was held as a fund raiser for the Team Mates program, the youth mentoring program now in force at the Holdrege Middle School. Phelps Memorial Health Center Foundation sponsored the program and helped put the activity together with the Team Mates Board.
