Physical Therapy moves to new location.
As of Monday morning, the Phelps Memorial Health Center physical therapy
department will be in the Phelps Medical Plaza, 516 West 14th Avenue,
Holdrege. Their move begins Friday afternoon, March 14, and will be
completed to conduct regular physical therapy/occupational therapy on
Monday morning, March 17.
The physical therapy department was originally located in the hospital,
and moved to the corner of 18th and Burlington in the spring of 1994. At
this address they changed their name to North Park Therapy Center and
was better able to serve their outpatients, while also caring daily for
inpatients at the hospital. After 14 years in this building, the Therapy
Center had outgrown their space and will now move to a larger, updated
area in the Phelps Medical Plaza.
With the move, the Therapy Center will return to the name of Phelps
Memorial Therapy Center, and will be located in Suite 200 of the Phelps
Medical Plaza.
Director of the Phelps Memorial Therapy Center, Andrew Weides, PT, said
the new facility will offer patients and the community more services
with the addition of new services.
"The new hydroworx therapy pool will help patients recovering from
surgery, athletes and athletic rehab, and people with arthritic
symptoms," Mr. Weides said. "We also have a larger gym for training and
rehabilitation, a whirlpool room for sports injuries and wound care and
a sports floor. Occupational Therapy also has quite a bit more room to
expand their services and better serve their patients."
A Grand Opening Celebration for the Phelps Medical Plaza is scheduled
for Saturday, April 19, at 2 pm.
