STUDENTS FROM YALE UNIVERSITY:
Six nursing students from the Yale School of
Nursing, New Haven, Connecticut, have just completed their community
health rotation in Holdrege, Kearney and Lexington. Pictured here are
two of the nursing students and their mentor, Lisa Hodge, RN, Phelps
Memorial Health Center. From left, nursing student Caroline Handschuh,
from California, Mrs..Hodge, and nursing student Susan Wasseluk,
Connecticut. In Holdrege, they worked with Phelps Memorial Home Health
Care learning about home care. The students were on each rotation in
groups of two. Ms. Wasseluk said this is their first experience treating
patients in a home setting. "We have better assessment skills after this
learning experience, and we felt honored to be in people's homes caring
for them," she said. "We really enjoyed this rotation, and appreciated
how generous and sharing the Home Health nurses are to help us learn.
They went above and beyond to help us experience home care." |
