Live Healthy Nebraska, a 100-day team wellness challenge, will start
Jan. 14
The program focuses on healthy weight loss and/or increased physical
activity in a team setting. This program takes the place of the previous
N Lighten Nebraska exercise and weight loss team program.
Teams of two to 10 people receive weekly motivational/educational tips
to guide them toward healthier nutrition and physical activity habits.
The participants periodically log their progress, measured in minutes of
physical activity and percentage of weight-loss and can compare their
results on a leader board. The leader board is sortable by state Zip
code, company and department to encourage local challenges.
Phelps Memorial Health Center is using this program as an employee
wellness initiative and will call it Live Healthy Phelps. Holdrege
Memorial Homes is also having teams in the Live Healthy Nebraska
program.
Each participant receives a training T-shirt, an annual subscription to
a healthy lifestyle magazine and access to daily nutrition and workout
planners. The cost is $20 per person. The first 30,000 registrants
receive $5 off their entry with a couple available at Hy-Vee.com.
The first 30,000 also receive a coupon booklet work $50 in discounts at
Hy-Vee stores.
Incentive prizes and coupons will be distributed to teams just for
logging their progress.
