Birth & Beginning Classes (BABE)

The BABE (Birth and Beginnings Education) class
is a 5 week class for parents expecting their first child. Couples learn about pregnancy, nutrition, growth, labor, pre-term labor, relaxation techniques
(breathing, massage, music, imagery, medications, epidurals, etc), the birth process and delivery (vaginally and via cesarean). They also learn about what goes on after birth and caring for their newborn. We generally have an anesthetist come and talk one night about epidurals/spinals. One of the other classes we have a car seat technician come and talk about cars eats.

A tour of the labor/delivery room, a view into the nursery as well as a visit to one of the postpartum rooms. Questions are encourage.

If the spouse or the significant other can't attend a class, anyone else can come as a substitute (ie, mother, friend, sister, aunt, etc.).
