American Heart Association CPR & Pediatric First Aid Classes

AHA Chain of Survival

The American Heart Association has courses designed to train individuals for life threatening emergency situations. These courses include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and first aid basics. The knowledge and skills you learn may help save the life of a loved one, a friend or a neighbor. Choose one of the following classes at Phelps Memorial Health Center that fits your needs

BLS HEALTHCARE PROVIDER RENEWAL 

Renewal of core material: adults/child/infant CPR (including two-rescuer CPR), airway barriers, bag mask ventilation, AED and foreign-body airway obstruction. This is an advanced CPR course.

Course Preparation: Register for class and receive a book and pre-course materials.

Course:
Held from 2 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
in the PMHC Community Room (lower level)
Tuition: $60 (includes text and materials)

2013 Dates: January 10 - March 7 - June 6
August 8 - September 12 - November 7

CPR Classes

HEARTSAVER CPR/AED
(Automatic External Defibrillator)

The Heartsaver AED Course teaches CPR, AED use, relief of choking for adults and children and infant CPR and relief of choking. This course is for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

Course Preparation:  Register for the class and receive your books and pre- course information.

Course: 
Held from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room in the lower level of PMHC.
Tuition:  $40 (includes text and materials)

6 Classes in 2013:
January 10 - March 7 - June 6 - August 8
September 12 - November 7

PEDIATRIC FIRST AID

Designed to meet the specific needs of child daycare providers, this course teaches first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and environmental emergencies.

Course Preparation: Register for the class and receive your books and pre-course information.

Course: Held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the PMHC Community Room (lower level)
Tuition: $40 (Combo CPR/First Aid $70 if both classes taken within three months)
