Phelps Memorial Health Center Foundation donated four automated external defibrillators to the City of Holdrege for use by their Utility Department. The AEDs will be housed in each of the aerial service trucks, making them accessible in many situations.
The City of Holdrege had determined the municipality was not meeting the industry standard of providing AED devises in its Electrical Department aerial bucket trucks, so the City of Holdrege applied for a grant through the PMHC Foundation. Also, the grant includes the instruction and education required to know CPR and operating the AEDs, which PMHC has provided. The total grant from PMHC to the City of Holdrege was nearly $10,000.
Phelps Memorial Health Center Board of Directors allots funds each year to be used in the communities it serves as Community Benefit Dollars. These funds are given to non-profit organizations to help them better serve the people in this area.
