Our Services

• Does Cardiac Rehab Work?

  • Cardiac rehab has two major parts:
    1)
Exercise Training to help patients learn how to exercise safely, strengthen their muscles, and improve stamina.  The exercise plan is based on individual ability, needs, and interests.
    2) Education, Counseling, and Training to help patients understand their heart condition and find ways to reduce their risk of future heart problems.  The cardiac rehab team will help patients learn how to cope with the stress of adjusting to a new lifestyle and to deal with their fears about the future.

  • The Exercise portion of cardiac rehab takes place in a group session.  The patient will also meet individually with our education nurse to help them understand their condition and risk factors more completely.  There are monthly seminars on topics including dietary concern and stress reduction.  Spouses are always welcome to attend the exercise classes and are encouraged to attend the educational sessions.

If you have any questions about the program please feel free to contact any staff member with the Cardiac Rehab program at (308) 995-2172; they will be happy to assist you!  Our best wishes for your success and recovery!
