What is Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a simple procedure that uses a magnet and special computer to produce pictures of the body.

How Is The Procedure Performed?
You will lie within a magnetic field. There is no radiation used. You must lie very still on their back for about 30 minutes. Some exams require the injection of a MRI contrast agent. Following the exam patients can resume all of their normal activities.

What Do I Need To Do To Prepare?
Abdomen exams - Do not eat or drink for six hours before the
         examination.
All other MRI exams - No Preparation.

Safety Screening: The MRI Technologist will ask you questions regarding your past medical history and previous surgeries.

What Do I Wear? You may wear comfortable clothing without metal. Hospital gowns can be provided.

How will I get the results? A radiologist will review the test and prepare a report to be sent to your doctor. It may take several days to receive this report from your doctor.
