Breast MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
The Breast MRI is a highly sophisticated diagnostic procedure, administered by our staff of highly trained and experienced radiologists and technologists, using state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment. The Breast MRI may provide information not seen on conventional films. The study is often performed without the use of compression as in mammography of the breast. It involves no radiation and may be very helpful when evaluating certain clinical questions. MRI is a non-invasive procedure that allows your physician to determine what the inside of your breast looks like. The images created will provide a comprehensive picture of the entire breast, chest wall and surrounding tissues. The MRI procedure is performed through the use of large magnet, radio waves and computer to process tha scan information. The end result of the study is to produce remarkably clear pictures of the breast tissue.
