Nuclear Medicine (Nuc Med)

Equipment: Siemens Ecam
Nuclear medicine exams are scheduled by your physician. They are available Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm.
Plains Radiology Services of Kearney, NE read and interpret a number of nuclear medicine studies. Other studies are interpreted by a cardiologist from Bryan Heart Institute in Lincoln, NE or Nebraska Heart Institute also in Lincoln, NE.
Nuclear medicine uses very small amounts of radioactive materials to image various structures within or functions of the body. These materials are attracted to specific organs, bones, or tissues within the body. The camera works along with computers to produce the image.
