Migraine Relief - Sphenopalatine Ganglion Block (SPGB)

This migraine relief procedure, performed in our Imaging Department by Advanced Medical Imaging, has proven to be very successful amongst our patients. Some have experienced immediate relief with the procedure. For best results, if you are experiencing any sinus issues or drainage, wait until it clears up to schedule a procedure.

Cardiology Diagnostic Testing

Cardiac diagnostic testing is performed at Phelps Memorial Health Center by our Imaging Team. Physicians utilize our diagnostic test results to identify and further understand heart disease and abnormalities. Our cardiology diagnostic tests include echocardiograms (including pediatric echocardiograms), stress tests, bubble studies and chest evaluations for pleural effusion. Test are read by Bryan Heart, Nebraska Heart Institute, Platte Valley Medical Group, Children's Hospital.

Vascular Diagnostic Testing

Vascular diagnostic screening and testing is performed by the highly-skilled Diagnostic Imaging Team at Phelps Memorial Health Center. Studies are ready by Plains Radiology Services. Testing is typically painless and non-invasive.

MRI & MRA Diagnostic Testing

An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan uses powerful magnets and radio waves to create pictures of the body. No radiation is used for an MRI. Our MRI testing includes abdominal, chest, cranial, breast, extremities, spine and MRA. Light sedation is available.

CT & CT-A Diagnostic Testing

A computed tomography (CT) scan uses x-ray radiation to generate images of the internal structure of the body. CT-A (CT Angiogram) looks specifically at blood vessels within the body. Results will be used by physicians to diagnose an infection, guide a surgeon to the right area during a biopsy, identify masses and tumors, and to study blood vessels. Pediatric tests are available. Light sedation may be used, if necessary.

Nuclear Medicine Diagnostic Testing

Nuclear medicine uses small amounts of tracers (radiopharmaceutical) to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases including functions of organs, tissue and bone. Nuclear testing is highly sensitive to abnormalities in the structure and function of organs. We perform these tests in the Phelps Memorial Imaging Department by registered technicians.

Ultrasound Diagnostic Testing

An ultrasound (also called sonography) uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of organ and tissue inside the body. Physicians use the results to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases and conditions. Most commonly, pregnancy. All expecting mothers, who plan to deliver at our hospital, will get a complimentary 4D image of their baby.

Fluoroscopy is the study of moving body structures. We use a continuous x-ray beam through the part of the body being examined. The beam is then transmitted to a monitor allowing the body part to be seen in motion. This allows physicians to evaluate areas of the body including bones, muscles, joints, heart, lung and kidneys. It also allows for accurate pinpointing of foreign objects in the body.

Digital Mammography

Mammograms are specialized x-ray exams of the breast and are physician ordered.
