My Background, Education and Experience

Specializing in conditions affecting the upper extremities, including hand, elbow and shoulder, Dr. Andreas M. Sauerbrey of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, provides services at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. He joined Orthopaedics of Steamboat in 2001.

Dr. Sauerbrey is trained to manage all aspects of orthopedic care including joint replacement, sports and trauma. He has his Sports Medicine Specialty Certificate. Dr. Sauerbrey annually attends Orthopaedic courses and instructor meetings to provide the latest technologies available in his specialty. He also has extensive experience and interest in Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy.

In addition to his orthopedic services, Dr. Sauerbrey has volunteered for USSA and the US Ski Team. He has travelled with the Freestyle Ski Team annually since 2002 and was the US Freestyle Ski Team Physician from 2007-2011. As the Freestyle Team Physician, he covered the World Championships in Inawashiro, Japan in 2009 and Deer Valley in 2011. He was also chosen to be the Freestyle Team Physician for the Vancouver Olympics in 2010.

Dr. Sauerbrey is originally from Bend, Oregon and loves to interact with small town living. His wife, Lisa, is from Anchorage. They have a son, Max, and a daughter, Morgan.
