Paige Fuerst, Clinical Informaticist, retires after 32 years at Phelps Memorial Health Center.  Paige is a registered nurse who has worked in med surg, ICU, ER, OB, charge nurse, and clinical analyst, before her role as clinical informaticist at Phelps Memorial.

Teammates, retired nurses, family, friends, and medical providers attended a retirement party in her honor. She will clock out for the final time Thursday, Dec. 21.

Paige received her LPN degree in 1978 followed by her RN degree in 1980 and since touched countless lives through her career in nursing.

“I will hold dear in my basket of memories the many patient's and family members that I cared for, some with laughter, some with tears.” said Paige.

She said that those experiences presented multiple opportunities for her to grow as a person and a nurse.

“God blessed me when he nudged me to enter the medical field when I started as a nurse's aide while in high school,” she said. “I also had the opportunity to work as a nurse in another country - Australia. My title there was 'Sister' which is equivalent to RN.”

She added, “I am grateful for my 32 years at Phelps Memorial and the lifelong friendships I have made along the way,”

She will be missed very much, and the team at Phelps Memorial wish her much happiness in the future.
