The Special Care Unit (SCU) at Phelps Memorial is a 4-bed unit. Our nursing staff is trained in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, neonatal resuscitation, and advanced trauma care.
State-of-the-art cardiac monitoring equipment allows staff to monitor their patient's status continuously. The standardized monitoring system in the SCU, emergency department, medical-surgical unit, same day surgery, recovery room, and scope room allow for the electronic transfer of patient data from one area to another.
