Phelps Memorial Health Center continues to strengthen its new Hospitalist Program with the addition of Brooke Cast, PA-C. As a hospitalist provider, Cast will care for hospitalized patients during daytime hours, working closely with nursing staff, specialists, and local primary care providers to coordinate care, communicate treatment plans, and support a smooth transition from the hospital to home. She brings more than 20 years of experience as a physician assistant, including over 12 years providing hospitalist care, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Doane College before completing the Physician Assistant program at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Hospitalist Program was developed to strengthen inpatient care coordination, improve communication among care teams, and enhance the overall hospital experience for patients and their families. By providing dedicated daytime inpatient coverage, hospitalists serve as a central point of coordination, helping ensure seamless, high-quality care from admission through discharge.

Together, Brooke Cast, PA-C  and Michaela Parrish, PA-C will provide consistent daytime inpatient coverage, working alongside nurses, specialists, and local primary care providers to coordinate treatment, improve communication, and support safe, smooth transitions from the hospital to home. The Hospitalist Program reflects PMHC's continued investment in delivering exceptional care and improving the experience for patients and families.

PMHC leadership is grateful for the continued partnership and support of local providers who have played an important role in the development of the Hospitalist Program. We look forward to sharing more details about the Hospitalist Program in the coming weeks as we prepare for its official launch.

Please join us in welcoming Brooke Cast, PA-C, to Team Phelps.
